London

I continue to travel and I can say that London remains, in my opinion, always at the top of the list of the most beautiful cities in the world. Impossible not to visit it at least once in a lifetime. Impossible not to go back. A friend of mine from London once told me…everyone goes back to London sooner or later. And that's right... at least... for those who, like me, have lived there for a medium-long term and perhaps have returned to their homeland can say that they have left a part of themselves in this splendid and just as strange city, so much so that go back.

But let's me explain some things about this City.. London has 7 airports!! A lot right? Obviously the most convenient for reaching the city centre is London City Airport, but I also recommend Heathrow and Gatwick, which are well served by public transport (the first metro and the Gatwick Express arriving at Victoria Station the second). I strongly advise against all the others because, although still connected by public transport, they are further away or inconvenient to reach. In practice, what you save on the flight you then spend on public transport to reach the centre. Overnight stay: regarding hotel accommodation, I can assure you that this city offers everything and more.. from super-luxury hotels to simple 3-star hotels, from hostels to b&b and so on. Obviously in this case the advice more than on the type of accommodation is on the location. If your intent is to visit the city center and your budget is limited, avoid taking hotels in "culandia" in order to save 20 or 30 pounds. I'm telling you here too... it all backfires when you go to get the transport. Unfortunately, London's means of transport are as organized as they are expensive. In fact, my advice in this case is to stay in the second zone. In fact, you must know that London is divided into zones..obviously the center is the first to then gradually expand like wildfire. In practice, the more you move away from the center, the more areas and obviously the cost of the vehicles increase. If perhaps the first zone is off limits for your wallet, I would advise you to stay in the second or maximum third zone. Obviously check that, where you choose to book, it is close to a metro or at least a bus stop. In the various 24-hour shops you can buy your Oyster Card (or the transport card) where you can load a certain sum or possibly make a season ticket. And here you are ready to tour this magnificent city far and wide. Obviously a classic weekend is not enough.. and maybe not even a week!! I've lived there for months and I'm still not really sure I've seen it all..

But anyway..as I said above..you have to go back to London! ;) PS: shopping is also very famous in London... from Oxford Street to the numerous Primarks, from the famous Harrods to the huge Westfield shopping center in Shepherd Bush. What can I say...there is something for all tastes and you really are spoiled for choice so...consider in your trip to London also a lot of time spent for shopping!!! 😎 Another dispassionate advice ... during the Christmas period (in my opinion the best even if the bitter cold!) the city is full of lights, Christmas shopping in London is among the most beautiful and moreover not to be missed if you love like me the Christmas markets, is the Winter Wonderland of Hyde Park.
